This Privacy Policy explains what information Upgrade Your Scent collects when you visit this site, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using this site, you consent to the practices described below.

What I collect

Information you give me. When you fill out the contact form, I receive whatever you choose to put in it — typically your name, email address, and message. When you join the email list (if/when one is offered), I receive your email address.

Information collected automatically. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may collect things like the pages you visit, how long you stay, what device and browser you use, your approximate geographic location (city level), and how you found the site (search engine, social link, direct, etc.). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. IP addresses are anonymized.

This site does not collect payment information. All purchases happen on Scentsy's own website (homeandcarfragrance.scentsy.us), which has its own privacy policy.

How I use it

  • To respond to questions you send through the contact form.
  • To understand which content people find useful so I can write more of it.
  • To improve site performance and fix broken pages.
  • To send you email updates if you've explicitly opted in.

How I share it

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I share it only with:

  • Google, through Google Analytics, for the purposes described above.
  • Email service providers (e.g., Gmail, Mailchimp), strictly to deliver replies or newsletter content you've requested.
  • Law enforcement, only if legally required by valid subpoena or court order.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for analytics. You can decline cookies using the banner at the bottom of the page on your first visit, or you can clear cookies and disable them in your browser settings at any time. Declining cookies will not break the site.

Your rights

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with privacy laws like GDPR or CCPA, you have rights including:

  • The right to know what personal information I have collected.
  • The right to request a copy of that information.
  • The right to ask me to delete it.
  • The right to opt out of analytics.

Data retention

Contact-form messages are kept in my inbox for up to two years, then deleted unless they're part of an ongoing conversation. Analytics data is retained according to Google's default settings.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be announced on the home page for at least 30 days.
